A StarHill Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving, like the last 19, the StarHill family gets together and celebrates. Nineteen years ago, when the Thanksgiving tradition began, the gatherings were filled with little ones on a small plot of land. Card tables were pushed together so everyone had a place at the table. Kids piled on hayrides, parents chased close behind, and the farm quietly blossomed in the background.

This "Thanksgiving Tree" is a little crafted keepsake to remind us of the Thanksgiving memories we've shared at the farm.

The farm now spans over 300 acres and the gatherings include many new faces, young and old.  The farm's horses, fishing, hiking, firepits and wide open spaces call to each person in a unique way. Some pause and take in the tranquil stillness, others get lost in cowboy adventures about the farm, while many cozy up and catch up by the fire. The old card tables retired, and now a stout, handmade wooden table sits at least 30 people, keeping everyone close. Food is both prepared on the farm and/or catered by one of our favorite local eateries. This year, Royers Round Top Café is making Thanksgiving sides and their famous pies for us.

Like with every outing on the farm, sharing time and taking in the view are the most memorable experiences. There’s just something about this place that makes you pause and reset, especially in the Fall. This time of year is actually when the Frappier Family originally purchased the farm. It’s a special time to be here. Fall in South Central Texas softens with a beautiful warmth. It gets just cool enough to get a fire pit started, but still warm enough to go for an easy hike or trail ride.

Events at StarHill are something that we recently started opening to the public, but StarHill Farms is no stranger to a gathering. The people who love this farm make it special. We are thankful for those who've shaped StarHill Farms and how it’s grown into a space where people can create new memories with their loved ones.

Let's all give thanks for the seeds of happiness we grow with one other. Happy Thanksgiving from the StarHill Family!
